WWE Made Renee Paquette Take Classes To Get Rid Of Her Canadian Accent

Renee Paquette has always shown she is proud to be a Canadian. She may have been too Canadian for the WWE’s broadcast team.

Renee Paquette hasn’t been afraid to open up about her time in the WWE since leaving the company and talking with others on her Oral Sessions podcast. On one episode, she revealed how the WWE passed on giving her a cooking show but gave the idea to someone else. And now on a recent episode of her podcast, she shared a story involving her accent and the WWE.

“So, I would just like to go on the record and say that I do not have a Canadian accent. I worked very hard to develop a non-regional dialect. When I first signed to WWE, they made me take classes to get rid of my Canadian accent. Which I’m sure was more than it is now, but it was very faint if any. I had to go into Manhattan once a week and sit with this woman and she would give me words I had to read during the week to make sure I didn’t mispronounce vowels or some s**t.”

Paquette may have had to deal with that when she first arrived to the WWE, but she’s doing just fine now. With a cookbook scheduled to be released sometime this year, along with her and husband Jon Moxley expecting their first child, Paquette is the queen of her own destiny right now.

And she’s free to have a Canadian accent if she so chooses.
