In the main event of Day One of Wrestle Kingdom 15, Tetsuya Naito defended his IWGP Heavyweight and IWGP Intercontinental Championships against long-time rival Kota Ibushi.
It was an intense match from start to finish, with both wrestlers refusing to lay down. Kota Ibushi was under a lot of pressure after two unsuccessful pins following his Kamigoye finishing move.
Ultimately, Ibushi hit a jumping Kamigoye when Naito could not perform the Destino properly. Ibushi finally managed to beat Naito and won the match.
He is now the new IWGP Heavyweight and IWGP Intercontinental Champion and is scheduled to put those titles on the line against Jay White on the Day 2 of Wrestle Kingdom 15.
We will have to see who wins tomorrow.
