Disco Inferno Insists Brodie Lee’s Family Give A Better Explanation On His Death

When Brodie Lee’s widow announced the passing of her husband last week, she revealed it was a non-COVID related lung issue. Details have been scarce because of the privacy the family asked for, which should have been more than enough for many people.

Of course, it wasn’t enough. Former PWTorch columnist Bruce Mitchell penned a controversial column that has since been taken down from the site that was so maligned by readers (and Chris Hero), that the site chose to part ways with Mitchell. Now someone is saying similar things, which will no doubt lead to a lot of heat for them.

On an episode of Keepin’ It 100, Konnan’s podcast, Disco Inferno and Konnan talked about his passing. Disco asked for the cause of death and when it was revealed the only information known at the time was what was told, the non-COVID lung issue, Disco wanted to know exactly why that was all we knew.

The column by Mitchell was discussed, and one of the quotes from the article was talked about when Mitchell wrote “Brodie Lee’s family and AEW both would serve his memory best by being forthright about all the circumstances surrounding his death.” Disco went on and agreed with Mitchell, saying that if it was him, he’d keep pushing the point until something more was given to him.

Right, what [Mitchell] was saying was not unreasonable. They aren’t being fully transparent because we don’t know what the cause of death is yet. It’s very weird that the guy had the typical symptoms that you see from COVID, and it’s like, ‘OK it’s not that but we don’t know what it is.’ My general curiosity is gonna press you until we find out what exactly happened.

Brodie Lee’s widow unleashed a tirade on Bruce Mitchell for his column, even revealing Brodie had been tested multiple times for COVID-19 and praying that one would come back positive so it would give her some sort of firm answer what he had. Brodie personally asked for his illness not to be made public because he didn’t want people to see him in that shape. While we deal with difficult things like this, we can choose to honor his memory by remembering the man his friends and family have spoken of.
