Isaiah “Swerve” Scott Talks About How His Swerve City Podcast Landed On WWE Network

One of the newest programs to end up on the WWE Network in recent weeks is the Swerve City Podcast. Isaiah “Swerve” Scott and his co-host Teasy Scott have already had nine episodes put up on the network, while its pre-Network life had guests like Kofi Kingston, Rhea Ripley, and Bayley and a former co-host in Big Swole. Since its arrival in October, Scott and his co-host have charmed the WWE Network audience with how much fun the duo have with their guests and the feel for the show.

Arriving to the network as part of a move to add more “conversation series” alongside Lilian Garcia’s Chasing Glory and a new show from Sam Roberts, Scott and Roberts spoke on his Notsam Wrestling podcast, discussing how WWE brought Swerve City to the Network.

“They noticed what we were doing and checked out all the stuff we were putting out. We were putting out a clean product with a lot of jokes and laughing, little tongue-in-cheek references we were making with the roster and pop culture. They loved the warmth and comfortability when we had the guests come in and how they express themselves. They loved that we could have Bayley come in and joke and laugh, like we’d known each other for five to ten years when we just met this past year. They loved that we could clown around and laugh with Kofi [Kingston] or MVP or Ruby Riott or Adam Cole or Aleister Black. They loved that we had the energy to have Nikki Cross get up and dance. ‘They look like they’re having fun. It’s not an interviewer and a professional athlete. These are people that are just joking around and talking about things outside of wrestling. You’re getting to know the person and enjoy the conversation.’ It makes the viewer want to be in the room. They loved the energy and that’s what got us noticed and on WWE Network. They let me bring my friends and my crew along with it, which was a bigger surprise. That was the part that warmed my heart. They didn’t want to touch anything we were doing. It’s still the genuine feel of the show.”

Scott’s ability to make the show feel less like an interview and more like good conversation has helped make the show that much more appealing. With recent guests drifting from in-ring talent as they featured rap group Flatbush Zombies and NXT’s announce team of Vic Joseph and Wade Barrett, the program continues to provide new entertainment for the fans in an atmosphere that’s unique to them on the Network.
