Last week’s AEW Dynamite had a massive jump in ratings as it beat NXT, but could it keep up that wide of a margin?
The answer wasn’t only yes, but it added to its viewership from last week. The overnight reports from Showbuzz Daily revealed that AEW had an overnight viewership of 995,000 viewers compared to NXT’s 659,000 viewers. Of note was AEW was the #2 show on cable for the night with a .45 in the coveted 18-49 demographic, compared to NXT’s .17 in the same.
This is compared to last week’s 913,000 viewers with a .42 in the demographic for AEW, with each having its own respective boost. AEW’s Winter Is Coming episode had the much hyped Jon Moxley/Kenny Omega World Title match in addition to the debut of Sting which no doubt had people changing the channel. Meanwhile this week’s show may not have had the same headlining match up (the main event was MJF vs. Orange Cassidy), but it did have the hyped up segment of Sting speaking for the first time in AEW along with many people anticipating the appearance of Kenny Omega and Don Callis after Omega’s victory and fresh off the heels of his Impact Wrestling appearance.
Meanwhile, NXT had the fallout of Halloween Havoc this week, also the return of Karrion Kross as highlights from the show.
