Update on Lars Sullivan’s Push

Vince McMahon often changes things on a whim. It’s with that reason in mind that some pushes in the WWE start and seemingly go nowhere.

That may have happened again on SmackDown, and it involves a very polarizing character on the show.

Lars Sullivan returned from injury and looked to be getting a huge push right out of the gate. He was drafted to SmackDown and after his debut where he tore apart stars like Jeff Hardy and The Miz, Sullivan did two sit-down interview segments before disappearing from television.

Ringside News has learned that his situation is not good. Lars is the victim of creative having nothing for him. While we had discussed the idea that WWE was moving on from controversial performers in the wake of having more scrutiny coming on them potentially with the Biden administration, that rumor was debunked and we can now say that Lars Sullivan isn’t being used because there is no creative direction for him.

A tenured member of the creative team told Ringside News Sullivan’s situation is “just typical falling through the cracks.” Of course, the reason this is more noticed is because Vince McMahon was asking for him a month ago and now he’s not. Situations like that rarely end up well for a wrestler if they’re in line for a push, and it could spell disaster for Lars’ long term future.

The creative direction for most of the WWE is rough right now. We discussed the lack of long term plans, and it has now shown in how there doesn’t seem to be a direction for Lars Sullivan like many other stars from the top of the card to the bottom.
