Ken Shamrock Reveals Reason He Declined Incest Angle During His Time With WWE

One of the many rejected angles well known in WWE history is Ken Shamrock refusing to do an incestuous angle with his kayfabe sister Ryan. The real life Alicia Webb came onto WWE television during this time as Ken’s sister, and Vince had pitched an angle where it would have been implied The World’s Most Dangerous Man was sexually involved with his sister.

Ken Shamrock had a reason besides the obvious for saying now, and he recently opened up about it on the Scheduled for Two Falls podcast. Shamrock revealed that Ryan was also the name of Shamrock’s real life son, so besides incest being off putting, the name only added to the discomfort.

“Here is this beautiful young lady who’s interested in me and just felt comfortable and next thing you know, we’re in a relationship and she’s my sister supposedly in this wrestling thing, and that was the actual next storyline that they wanted me to do was they wanted me to have this incest with my sister. That’s why I was running around trying to save her and all these other things and I was like, ‘The World’s Most Dangerous Man, wants to have sex with his own sister?’ And by the way, my son’s name is Ryan. My legitimate son’s name is Ryan and they made her Ryan and I’m like, people are gonna go, ‘Isn’t that his kid?’ Way too close to home, and I was like, ‘No. I’m not doing that.’”

Vince has tried this several times. There was a proposed angle involving Paul Birchill and his kayfabe sister Katie Lea, and then even one with his own daughter while she was pregnant. It seems to be something he hopes to make to television someday, but so far he’s found no takers.
