WWE has tried to cram a lot into their shows on the build to Survivor Series. With only two hours for the blue brand, there was a lot to get done, including on last Friday’s show. The show had to get another man and another woman on the Survivor Series team and with the way the show was booked, they took a quick way out.
Adam Pearce did something he didn’t do for the Raw brand and used his power as a WWE Official to name Otis and Bayley to their respective teams for Survivor Series, rounding out the SmackDown brand. So why did they do this?
Wrestling Observer Radio reported that things were done this way because they were short on time. It was unclear what took them so long or why they didn’t allot time for qualifying matches on the show. SmackDown was incredibly heavy on video packages to promote the pay per view, but perhaps booking decisions just lead to this.
We shall have to see if these decisions last going into tonight’s show. You never know if plans could change.
