Update On Candy Cartwright’s Lawsuit Against WWE, EVOLVE, Riddle

One of the biggest stories to come out during the #SpeakingOut movement was Samantha Tavel coming forward about Matt Riddle. Tavel, known as Candy Cartwright professionally, alleges Riddle forced himself on her, which is an accusation Riddle denies.

Tavel recently filed a multi-million dollar lawsuit against WWE and EVOLVE, announcing this during a press conference back in October. In a new report by Heel By Nature, WWE has obtained consent from Riddle, Gabe Sapolsky, and WWN owner Sal Hamaoui on November 17th in an attempt to move the case to the federal level. WWN was the parent company that owned EVOLVE.

WWE received their summons by Tavel’s legal counsel on October 26th, prompting them to seek the move. She is suing each defendant for $10 million in actual damages, emotional distress damage, punitive damages, attorney’s fees, and costs.

The lawsuit alleges that Tavel had bookings with WWE and EVOLVE earlier this year and if she did not perform sexual acts on Riddle, she would lose those jobs. She also claims that Riddle pressured WWE and EVOLVE to not work with her, where she claims she was told in January of this year that there were “issues with talent” leading to her losing bookings with the company.
