On the 15th of November NJPW kicked off both their World Tag League and Best Of Super Jr Tournaments simultaneously in style, with a massive 10 match card. There were plenty of intriguing match ups on the evening including the Main Event between Hiromu Tanahashi and Taiji Ishimori plus a Road To Power Struggle rematch between Zack Sabre Jr and Taichi against Hirooki Goto and YOSHI-HAHSI.
However one of most interesting stories heading into the night over-shadowed most of all the matches, it was just who would be The Great O’Kahn’s Tag Team Partner, who would be the third member of Will Ospreay’s Empire Faction? We didn’t have to wait long as in the third match of the evening we would get our answer.
The Great O’Kahn made his way to the ring first as he waited at the entrance ramp for his partner to be revealed when out walked super athlete Jeff Cobb. The two would jump their opponents Hiroshi Tanahashi and Toa Henare, Cobb and Kahn would make quick work of both Tanahahsi and Henare and defeated them in dominant fashion.
Are you surprised by Jeff Cobb joining Will Ospreay’s Empire? How do you think the pair of the Great O’Khan and Jeff Cobb will do in the world Tag League.
