Possible Reason They Are Having Kenny Omega vs. Jon Moxley On Dynamite

All Elite Wrestling has penciled in one of the biggest matches Dynamite has ever had for December 2nd when they have Jon Moxley defend the AEW Title against Kenny Omega. This match is certainly pay per view worthy, and many thought they would give it a slow build to main event their next pay per view, Revolution, but instead is being reserved for a Dynamite main event.

The reason why boils down to the heart of most programming: ratings.

During Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer mentioned that AEW ratings dropped significantly in November and December of last year, with booking issues also being reference. The problem was fixed quickly in that matter with Tony Khan, but the plan is to use this match and other things like potential plans for PAC to give Dynamite a significant ratings boost going into the end of the year.

There’s a train of thought out there that Moxley is dropping the title on Dynamite to make his way to Japan for the January 4th Tokyo Dome show, but that has not been confirmed nor has any match for Moxley been announced for Wrestle Kingdom.
