With Zelina Vega’s release, a lot of fans have been speculating on the future of her husband, Aleister Black. With Miro’s release and signing with AEW, the treatment of his wife Lana has been under heavy scrutiny by wrestling fans on social media.
Scrutiny has picked up on Black’s future, wondering if he’s going to follow Vega into free agency, and while nothing has pointed in that direction, the WrestleVotes Twitter account recently revealed some key information on Aleister Black’s status with the company.
There’s a bit more behind the scenes to the Zelina Vega release. Frustration from both sides is an understatement. While it can’t be directly tied to today’s news, Aleister Black recently requested to move back to NXT and was denied. Dissension amongst the parties involved.
Black’s push has halted in the wake of Paul Heyman’s removal as Executive Director of Raw. A heel turn and feud with Kevin Owens did little favors for Black since then, and his move to SmackDown has yet to see him arrive on television. While fans will continue to speculate if Black will inevitably request his own release, the company and Aleister Black are not on the same page right now.
