Conor McGregor and Dustin Poirier are set to face off for the 2nd time next year.
Headlining UFC 257, scheduled for Las Vegas on January 23rd, McGregor returns from his 2nd UFC retirement against Dustin Poirier, who like McGregor is one of the absolute top fighters in the division.
If you’ve already watched the fight, let’s hope the rematch lasts longer.
In a tweet from UFC journalist and interviewer, Ariel Helwani, he claimed that though Poirier has signed the deal, McGregor hasn’t yet.
It is not yet confirmed that this fight will be for the vacant lightweight title. This could be due to the other fighters arguing their cases for why they should get a shot at the belt, e.g. Tony Ferguson. In McGregor’s case, he’s returning, so there will be those in the division who think that a title shot for him would be a slap in the face.
