Trio Of Top WWE Superstars Prefer Scripted Promos

The script writing process for WWE television doesn’t just include items for backstage segments or even commentary, they include things written for promos. It’s long been said some top stars improvise their promo work and many have talked about how they didn’t like the scripted promo style when they leave the company. But does anyone in the company actually prefer that style?

It turns out a handful of the company’s top stars do. Ringside News learned that there’s a trio specifically that prefer the style, and one of them will surprise you.

The Miz has been hailed for what his promo style which has often been speculated as improvisation, but Miz “loves being scripted” according to a tenured member of the creative team. It is all in his delivery, which may surprise some people.

It isn’t just Miz that prefers this. Their source went on to tell them that a couple of top female stars also prefer the scripted style. Former Women’s Tag Team Champions Sasha Banks and Bayley “don’t really improvise, but have a lot of input in their segments.”

This style obviously isn’t for everyone. It does, however, seem to have its benefits for these three stars.
