Cody Says He Is Cody Rhodes Again

Earlier today, we reported the WWE has abandoned their petition to renew their trademark over the name Cody Rhodes. AEW’s Cody and the company had been involved in a legal back and forth over the trademark for the name this year, with WWE filing a petition to renew their trademark on the name earlier this year while opposing Cody’s attempt to trademark the name. They used an extension on filing thanks to the COVID-19 pandemic to slow the process down but it was inevitably given up.

It did not take Cody long to jump on that.

After Dynamite went off the air tonight, Rhodes stayed in the ring and continued his promo he ended the show with, telling the crowd “It feels REALLY good to be Cody Rhodes again.”

Though he didn’t use the surname on Dynamite, there’s a fairly decent chance we may hear that last name announced at Full Gear Saturday night against Darby Allin. You can watch the promo below.
