FTR Say Randy Orton Is “Greatest Professional Wrestler In the World”

Even professional wrestlers are fans of the business and have opinions on who they think are great and their own favorites. If you ask Dax Harwood and Cash Wheeler of FTR, their opinion on the best wrestler in the world right now is Randy Orton.

Speaking with Louis Dangoor of WrestleTalk to promote AEW Full Gear on Saturday night, the duo had a chance to talk about Orton’s recent World Title win at Hell In A Cell and their time with him in the brief unofficial FTRKO faction.

Dax Harwood: “It was very cool to see him win the world championship again, because it recognises him as the greatest professional wrestler in the world and I really believe that. Both Cash and I believe that he is the greatest professional wrestler in the world. And why he is so good? Man, I can’t tell you why, you know? I don’t think anybody can tell you. You hear about it all the time, and it is a real thing, but he has “it”. I don’t even think he knows how good he is or why he is so good.

Cash Wheeler: “He doesn’t.

Dax Harwood: “We would work these six-man tags with him on live events in 2019 and after the matches he would praise us, and we’d be like “dude, did you see what you just did?. You’re Randy Orton”, and he’d say ‘I wish I could work like you guys”, and we’re like “no no no no, you do”. Finally having, a year too late, FTRKO running the wrestling business is a pretty cool moment for us. We have a good relationship with him, we talk to him all the time through text, and he’s one of the guys that we miss a lot because he looked out for us. We tried to work hard for him, and we wanted to make things work for FTRKO, but the chips didn’t fall in place like we wanted

Cash Wheeler: ‘It’s awesome to see Randy get, like his fourteenth world title is it now? Like he’s creeping up on the sixteenth. The guy is only 40, but he’s been doing this literally half this life. He is the best in the world, but he’s effortlessly good. He doesn’t even know how good he is or how he does what he does, it just comes naturally to him. Like you said, we’ve done the six-man tags and we’ve watched it and it’s just like how does he move that easily? How does he get in place that smoothy? How does he get everything just right without even looking like he’s trying? So to see like the work he’s done for the last year, like obviously like Randy when is he firing on all cylinders is untouchable, and this past year he’s been firing on all cylinders, so it’s really cool to see him recognised for that. Because like Dax said, we believe, and a lot of people believe, that he is the best wrestler in the world.”

Wheeler even recalled a moment where the duo watched him take on Ricochet with Sami Zayn and Daniel Bryan and the group definitely all seemed to agree that Orton was on a level above a good majority, if not all, of his peers.

Cash Wheeler: “We were at a live event, sometime last December and we were backstage watching on a monitor and Randy was working Ricochet and it was just me, Dax, Sami Zayn and Daniel Bryan I think, and we were all just standing around watching the match and nobody was really saying anything and we’re just kinda watching it go. As soon as the match was over, I think Sami or Daniel one of them turned to us and said “Randy Orton is maybe the best wrestler ever, right?” and we’re all like yes, everybody is thinking it. We’re all watching the monitor like blown away by how good he is, and then somebody finally says it and is like “maybe he is one of the best ever”.

FTR and Orton may not be working for the same company, but the trio are now running their respective divisions in their individual companies.
