AEW Adds Extra Medical Staff Ahead Of Full Gear

We reported yesterday AEW’s internal mindset involving the recent injuries on their shows. Stars such as Kris Statlander, Alex Reynolds, and Rey Fenix have all been injured during Dynamite broadcasts, and now AEW is taking steps to be better prepared for it.

Tony Khan spoke with PWInsider that they will be taking extra measures to protect their wrestlers by adding to their medical and safety staff just in time for their upcoming Full Gear pay per view on Saturday night. It seems that internal communication between the backstage staff and the trainer team will be improved, and Khan has spoken to his referee team about it.

“I’ve added a two-way feature where the referees can talk back to us if there are injuries. All communication is not only going one way, and I have encouraged referees to let us know what’s going on.”

Another thing revealed in the interview is the fact that being added to the team is former WWE Superstar and CEO of the Concussion Legacy Foundation, Chris Nowinski. The group has done a great deal of CTE research and have made major breakthroughs over the past few years.

It’s obvious AEW wants to keep their talent safe, and these steps should allow them to keep a step up on the matter.
