Anderson Silva fought in what is expected to be his last ever fight in the UFC. Unfortunately for the former champion, he failed in his challenge to conquer the currently ranked middleweight, Uriah Hall, on Fight Night.
Here are the results from the main card:
- Uriah Hall beat Anderson Silva- Fourth-round TKO (punches)
- Bryce Mitchell beat Andre Fili- Unanimous decision (29-28, 29-28, 30-27)
- Greg Hardy beat Maurice Greene- Second-round TKO (punches)
- Kevin Holland beat Charlie Ontiveros- First-round submission (verbal tap)
- Thiago Moises beat Bobby Green- Unanimous decision (29-28, 29-28, 29-28)
Following the fight, UFC president Dana White was clearly not happy with how his high profile star performed on his return to the octogen:
“Tonight, I don’t feel good about myself that I let Anderson Silva fight this last fight. We’ve treated Anderson with nothing but respect and if you guys knew what Anderson Silva gets paid to fight, you’d sh*t your f**king pants. I think that we’ve treated him like family. I shouldn’t have let him fight this fight tonight.”
“Look at Anderson. When the fight was over, he couldn’t stand to do his interview. He had to sit down to do his interview.”White irritated that he made the fight
“He fought a guy that has absolutely zero output, they’re in a five-round main event on ESPN, they threw 11 punches in the f**king second round. You fight any of these other savages, he’ll be in big trouble and he’ll take a sh*t load of punishment. Uriah Hall threw 11 punches in the second round. Uriah Hall’s one of the most gun shy fighters in the UFC.”Dana White speaking on Hall’s performance.
Dana White’s reaction reaffirms that this will most likely be “The Spider” Silva’s last fight.
