Backstage News On AEW Stars Working The Collective

Over the last week, The Collective has been in the news for the wrong reasons. Covid-19 has spread through the talent, staff and attendees. Many of those people have gone to Twitter to confirm the positive tests and asking for others to get tested as soon as possible.

During Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer spoke about the outbreak of covid-19 and also spoke about a rumour of an AEW talent who attended the event. The Collective had talent from many companies, however the highest profile companies that attended happened to be from AEW and IMPACT Wrestling.

One of the major AEW talents who headlined the event was Jon Moxley. Jon Moxley headlined the Bloodsport card during The Collective, facing Chris Dickinson. Criticism has surrounded the event, as the company didn’t appear to adhere to CDC guidelines on throwing events of this size.

According to Dave Meltzer, many sources spoke to him before the event started stating,

“This is going to be bad. AEW shouldn’t have let their talent go here because they’re going to do this, and they’re going to be either flagged at AEW, or if they somehow sneak through, and the test doesn’t catch them, then it could be bad news.”

AEW have not publicly announced if any of their talent has tested positive after featuring in the event. Following the event, both Moxley and Archer faced each other in this weeks Dynamite. Meltzer believes that there is no current outbreak as he would have heard of it by now.
