COVID-19 continues to wreck havoc and it seems to have found its way to current NWA women’s champion Thunder Rosa. Tokyo Joshi Pro-Wrestling took to Twitter today and announced that due to Thunder Rosa’s inability to travel and defend the championship, there will be a tournament to crown a new champion.
Thunder Rosa became the first “gaijin” to win the championship when she defeated Maki Itoh in January. Rosa herself responded to the news:
Once travel restrictions have been lifted it seems like Thunder Rosa will be going back to face whoever emerges as the new champion.
