After being in the headlines for unflattering reasons two weeks ago, The Notorious One is back in the world of MMA news. Earlier this week, Conor on Twitter posted private messages between himself and Dana White about potential fights.
Then after Dana White once again spoke about Conor turning down a fight against Tony Ferguson, McGregor once again took to social media.
Tony Ferguson has been in the headlines with Dustin Poirier recently as their Co-Main Event fight scheduled for UFC 254 was cancelled. Dustin sited financial compensation as the reason for not taking the fight and in solidarity, Tony Ferguson also didn’t sign to fight anyone else.
While it might not be the payday Poirier was looking for, Conor McGregor may have found a solution.
Conor answered Dustin on social media with an interesting offer.
Dustin Poirier seems to be on board with the idea.
I’m unsure how the logistics work as both men are still employed under UFC contract but this could put Dana White in an interesting predicament. Conor has the bankroll to fund the event but it may make Dana step up and give Dustin the payday he is looking for, maybe even Conor as well. This is surely a Headliner fight and one can only imagine the UFC would love to have this take place under their banner. Only time will tell how this will play out…
