Ever since signing with WWE in 2016, Nikki Cross has become nothing short of great. Going from being potrayed as a complete psycho to an underdog babyface without missing a beat. The transformation and the development of Nikki Cross is something I don’t think is getting enough attention from wrestling fans.
Debuting as a member of Sanity (remember them?) in 2016, Nikki Cross would quickly become one of the most popular members on the roster. Portraying a psycho gimmick, Nikki Cross and her character work would become one of the best things about an NXT Brand that was firing on all cylinders. Nikki Cross would become so popular that she would become a key figure in the “who attacked Aleister Black” storyline, serving as the witness to the attack.
Above having excellent character work, Nikki Cross would also become one of the best female workers in the entire company. Having great matches with the likes of Asuka, Shayna Baszler and Bianca Belair. Due to the success Nikki would see in NXT, many fans thought she would make a great addition to the women’s division on the main roster. Many of those fans were right however the character Nikki Cross would portray would be much different than what fans anticapted.
Forming a partnership with Alexa Bliss, Nikki Cross would stop portraying the psycho character and become more humane. The partnership with Alexa Bliss would end up being a huge success as Alexa being paired off with Nikki would force WWE to turn Bliss baby face, as a result turning the team baby face. It’s here where we look at why Nikki Cross is so reliable. Nikki Cross can portray any role WWE needs her to play and do it so effortlessly. She can be play a great underdog baby face or a psycho face. She can have a great match with any woman on the roster, as demonstrated by her matches with Sasha Banks, Bayley, Asuka and countless others. This in my opinion is why Nikki Cross is the most reliable woman on the WWE roster.
