We have 2 groundbreaking matches scheduled for tonight. We will have a Number 1 contenders match on the men’s and women’s side, with the women’s match being a Battle Royal and the men’s being the very FIRST Gauntlet Eliminator. Sit back, relax, and let’s watch some wrestling!
Welcome to Takeoff to Takeover!
It’s time for a new episode of NXT!
We are starting off tonight with the women’s Battle Royal. Candice LeRae attacked Tegan Nox during Dakota Kai’s entrance. It is unclear if she will be able to compete in a few moments.
Rhea Ripley has picked up the first elimination. Three participants have been eliminated by Raquel and Rhea. The numbers are starting to settle down in this Battle Royal. Kacy Catanzaro had an amazing save from being eliminated after her feet never touched the ground.
Rhea Ripley and Raquel have eliminated each other at the same time. Kacy Catanzaro has now eliminated Indi Hartwell. We are down to the final two, Candice LeRae and Shotzi Blackheart. Candice LeRae is the winner of the Battle Royal and will now challenge Io Shirai at NXT Takeover.
Tommaso Ciampa and Jake Atlas is up next! What did y’all think of the women’s Battle Royal?
Jake Atlas is just ripping away on Tommaso Ciampa in the beginning of the match. Tommaso Ciampa is back in control of the match.
This is a very fast paced match between two incredibly talented wrestlers.
Tommaso Ciampa has picked up the victory over Jake Atlas.
There is a new match idea brewing backstage. Here is the idea:
Danny Burch and Roderick Strong will take on Raul Mendoza and Fabian Aichner. See the match rules above.
Roderick Strong and Danny Burch pick up the win.
Austin Theory vs Damian Priest is up next.
Damian Priest picks up the victory over Austin Theory. Johnny Gargano attacks Damian Priest at the end of the match.
Ridge Holland is in action next.
A brawl between Io Shirai and Candice LeRae then also Damian Priest and Johnny Gargano breaks out backstage.
The Gauntlet Eliminator Match is next. The first two participants are Kyle O’Reilly and Kushida.
Bronson Reed is the next entrant in the match.
Velveteen Dream interferes in the match to take out Kushida.
Cameron Grimes has now entered the match. We now have all participants entered into the match. Kushida and Bronson Reed have both been eliminated so far.
Timothy Thatcher has now been eliminated.
Kyle O’Reilly and Cameron Grimes are the last two standing. It is a very back and forth match between the two.
Kyle O’Reilly is going to NXT Takeover! Congratulations to him for making history and becoming the Number 1 Contender for the NXT Championship!
