Wade Barrett has officially signed a contract with WWE NXT as part of their full time commentary team.
The former Intercontinental Champion and NEXUS leader has been part of the announce team over the last few weeks alongside regulars Vic Joseph and Beth Phoenix.
As first reported by Sports Illustrated, Barrett is set to become an official member of the announce team. The former King of the Ring returned as a part time color commentator for the black-and-gold brand after many years away from WWE and stints with various other promotions, as well as an acting career.
“I am as passionate, as motivated, and as excited to be in the NXT broadcast booth as I ever was to be in the ring,” Barrett told SI. “I can’t wait for the next few months and the next few years. I am thrilled to share the stories of the stars of NXT, and I am very grateful for the chance to entertain people every week. I am so excited for this new role.”
