Mike ‘IRS’ Rotunda Discusses WWE Release

It was reported on September 10, that WWE had released Mike Rotunda, better known to many wrestling fans as Irwin R. Shyster (IRS).

Rotunda had been a producer aswell as an agent in WWE since 2006, but was furloughed in April. With WWE not running live events and television shows taking place in the same location, Rotunda was one of the many agents released.

Appearing on the Two Man Power Trip podcast, Rotunda discussed his release from WWE.

“I got furloughed in April along with others. It didn’t look like it was going to open back up. I prepared myself for it, but I wasn’t sure what was going to happen. I’m fine with it. I had a long run and I’m 62 years old. To be honest, it was harder and harder to travel and keep that pace. It helps when you’re younger to keep that pace. My whole time there, we did live shows depending on which show you were on; both television shows, and a ton of live events. I put a lot of time in on the road and it’s nice being home,”

Rotunda continued by saying that he is now happy to be home with his wife and spending time with his grandchildren. He also mentioned he is enjoying fishing again.

Rotunda joins Sarah Stock, Lance Storm, Gerald Brisco and others who have been released following their initial furlough in April.
