Earlier this week it was announced by Dustin Poirier that his showdown at UFC 254 against Tony Ferguson was off. Poirier said he believed he should be compensated better for the fight and that if the UFC would pay him, he’d fight.

Saturday night after UFC Fight Night, in the post card press conference it was said Ferguson would still fight regardless. When asked about the fight plans for UFC 254 Dana White told MMA Junkie:

No, we’re not even trying to salvage it, We’re getting another fight. It’ll happen (with a different opponent for Ferguson)

Tony “El Cucuy” Ferguson took to Twitter early this morning to back up Dustin Poirier and say that’s the man he wants to fight:

It’s definitely the fight fans want to see land and with a little over a month until UFC 254, anything is possible. It’s now on Dana White to deliver.
