Who Should Get Brock Lesnar If He Returns To The UFC?

UFC Heavyweight Champion Stipe Miocic has heard the talks about the possibility of Brock Lesnar making a UFC return as he is a free agent following his latest WWE deal expiring.

Dave Meltzer reported in the latest edition of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter that one of the reasons WWE let him go is because it made no sense to use him during a pandemic.

Miocic appeared on Michael Bisping’s podcast Believe You Me where he discussed a potential match-up.

He said (ht Nick Baldwin, theScore)

“A hundred percent I think so. If anything, I would get the Brock Lesnar fight first or be asked first. I didn’t know [Jon Jones] called the shots. I didn’t know that.”

The heavyweight division in the octagon has always been a main attraction and with the recent news that Brock Lesnar can once again enter the UFC, he instantly becomes a main draw. As Miocic pointed out, Light Heavyweight kingpin Jon “Bones” Jones has also entered the mix. While Stipe has every right to believe he should get the first call let’s face it, Lesnar is just a money grab in the UFC at this point.

It makes the most sense from a financial standpoint for Jones to get the first chance at Lesnar. A Jones Vs Lesnar headline would draw massive amount of money, give Jones the test he needs to see how the division will look and if Jon Jones wins it would set up an even bigger event for him to take on Miocic. Stipe Miocic would have nothing to gain from taking on Lesnar. If wins, he beat a has been. If he loses, he lose to a has been. He’s already on top of the division and would be risking all the respect he’s spent the last few years earning.

If Brock Lesnar does decide to go the UFC route I think we can all agree that whoever he would choose to face would be the biggest attraction Dana White has had in the division for years
