Daniel ‘DC’ Cormier Wants Removal From UFC

Daniel ‘DC’ Cormier seems to be going all in on his retirement.

The former two-division UFC champion retired after his unanimous decision loss to current UFC heavyweight champion Stipe Miocic in the main event of UFC 252. Cormier is reportedly sticking to those retirement plans. Aaron Bronsteter of TSN reports that DC told UFC President Dana White that he is withdrawing from the USADA testing pool and wants to be removed from the UFC rankings.

If DC is to change his mind and come out of retirement, he would have to complete six months of USADA testing before being able to fight again. DC currently sits at no. 7 in the UFC pound for pound rankings and no. 3 in the UFC heavyweight division rankings.

The former two-division UFC champion returned to commentary both last night for Dana White’s Contender Series Episode 31 and will be commentating this weekend for UFC Vegas 9.
