The ThunderDome Effect

With WWE moving the operation of its major shows (RAW & SmackDown) to the Anway Center, there are already major changes in the way WWE presents their products to their viewers.

Having the fans reactions back on TV is great. While it can be distracting seeing all the different fans and the funny shenanigans they are going to do with their web cams, they are giving WWE’s products the life it needed.

The PC atmosphere for most weeks didn’t feel right and the PC recruits serving as a crowd never felt real and let’s not forget the fact that for weeks they were not allowed to have chairs.

ThunderDome looks great and gives WWE back its bigger than life looks it was missing for months. The piped sounds can still be distracting but with time WWE find the perfect balance.

Matches are starting feel easier to watch now thanks to the lights and whistles of ThunderDome. It will be interesting to see how WWE and ThunderDome evolve going forward.

While everything looks great, WWE still needs to improve their booking. If WWE want to improve their ratings and viewership, they need to improve their booking and come up with interesting stories to tell or ThunderDome will enter in to the category of missed opportunities in WWE’s history.

WWE is going on the right direction with ThunderDome and what they are doing with it, but only time will tell if WWE will be able to use this positive momentum they have after SummerSlam.
