Top WWE Superstar Has Surgery, Will Miss SummerSlam

Ever since suffering an attack from Nia Jax on the 06/22 episode of Raw, Charlotte Flair hasn’t been sent in WWE and it was subsequently reported that she would be taking some time away from WWE. However, there were a few conflicting reports circling about how long she’d be out of action for.

Reports claimed at first that Flair was going to have surgery as soon as possible and be back in time for SummerSlam. To the contrary, other reports seemed to think that she wasn’t actually injured, and wouldn’t be rerunning until at least next year. As time passes on, it seems more and more unlikely that Flair will be back for SummerSlam, especially considering the recent reports that she had surgery over this weekend.

Alex McCarthy of talkSPORT first reported that Flair would be back on WWE TV within six weeks, but is now reporting that “The Queen” had surgery 3 days ago on Saturday. The surgery is believed to have gone smoothly. Flair confirmed on Twitter recently that the surgery was not injured related, but in fact to fix an issue which had surfaced after her most recent plastic surgery.

“talkSPORT can reveal that On July 25, Flair had successful surgery to fix a lingering issue – which Flair herself spoke about on Twitter a few weeks back – and we’re told it went ‘great’. talkSPORT has previously reported there is no chance the 34-year-old will compete at SummerSlam and we’re told that is still very much the case.”
