Kairi Sane’s time with WWE has come to an end. The much loved Japanese superstar departed the company following last nights episode of WWE RAW after her contract expired. Sane’ last act for the company was being attacked by SmackDown Womens Champion Bayley, which led to Asuka charging backstage to help her friend and subsequently losing her RAW Womens Champsionhip to Sasha Banks in the process via count out.
After the match, Sane took to Twitter to thank the company and her fans for the last few years of support. Sane leaves the company a former WWE Women’s Tag Team and NXT Women’s Champion, as well as the winner of the inaugural Mae Young Classic.
WWE put out the following statement:
Following Monday Night Raw, Kairi Sane took to Twitter to thank her fellow Superstars, WWE staff and the WWE Universe for their support as she prepares to leave WWE.
Sane joined WWE in 2017, winning the inaugural Mae Young Classic. Along with the hearts of the WWE Universe, she would go on to capture the NXT Women’s Championship and the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship alongside Asuka.
Sane’s fellow Superstars responded in kind on social media.

Kairi Sane’s status with the company has been reported on for a munber of weeks, with PWInsider saying that Kairi’s final date on her WWE contract was July 20. WWE taped two episodes of RAW that day with one airing on July 20 and the other airing on July 27. Sane has reportedly departed WWE on very good terms. She has reportedly made the decision to move back to Japan to be with her husband permanently.
Fightful Select reported on July 1 that as of May, there were plans in place for her to return to Japan and serve as an ambassador for WWE, but there has been no update on those plans. Alex McCarthy of talkSPORT reported Sane leaving WWE was “not set in stone” and WWE was reportedly intent on taking care of her.
