NXT vs AEW – Wednesday Night Wrestling Viewership 07/01/20

WWE NXT continued it’s winning ways against AEW as night 1 of it’s Great American Bash themed show helped them to make it 2 wins a row despite AEW also airing what was practically a pay-per-view quality shows.

Fyter Fest drew an average viewership of 748,000, down 15% from 633,000 last week. Dynamite placed at #6 in the Top 150 original cable telecasts among the 18-49 demo. This was the lowest total viewership in AEW Dynamite history. WWE NXT brought in 792,000 viewers, up just less than 1% from 786,000 last week. NXT came in at #13 in the 18-49 demo.

AEW have been dominating the Wednesday Night Wars since its inception in October 2019, but the last few weeks have seen them lose a considerable amount of momentum. As NXT continued to gain ground, things bottomed out for AEW last week as they posted their lowest total viewership ever. NXT routed the viewership on that night, winning by a whopping 150,000 viewers, off the back of a strong Triple Threat main event between Keith Lee, Finn Balor and Johnny Gargano.
