Why The Revival Finally Parted Ways With WWE

The Revival were finally granted their release from WWE yesterday. They had been trying to leave the company for a long time as they were unhappy with their position in the company. It was an immediate release and they are free to go wherever they want to.

On Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer discussed some of the reasons why WWE might have finally released them.

“Whatever the reason it had to be today [that the Revival were released]. I think number 1 it’s Friday and it’s a very unique time and the feeling that it’ll be kinda buried in the news today with everything else. I don’t know if it’s because AEW just taped so much TV because the thing you don’t want is the guy showing up on AEW television right away.”

“They could tease their debut on Wednesday if they go ahead and sign them. I mean, there’s no non-compete. As far as why they were released now and they didn’t hold them you know maybe they wanted to release them.”

Due to the COVID-19 outbreak, it will be tough for them to get any work due to almost all shows being cancelled, but it is still possible for them to sign with AEW. Following their release, The Revival already started using different names.

We will have to see when they eventually make their way into AEW.
