WWE Reportedly Considered Putting Jeff Hardy Into Universal Title Match At WrestleMania 36

WWE had to make changes to the originally planned Universal Title Match between Goldberg and Roman Reigns after Reigns pulled out of the event. Braun Strowman was then placed into the match, and ended up defeating Goldberg at WrestleMania 36.

We earlier reported how Strowman wasn’t originally supposed to go over in the match with Goldberg, because WWE was wanting to continue the program with Roman Reigns and reschedule their match for a later event. However, Goldberg wasn’t wanting to add anymore dates to his current WWE deal, meaning that whoever took Reigns place was going to win the title.

Apparently though, Braun Strowman wasn’t the only one that was being considered for the match against Goldberg.

According to a report from Wrestle Talk, WWE Superstar Jeff Hardy was also being considered for the role, before deciding to go with Strowman.

“There were reportedly talks of giving Jeff Hardy the role, but WWE ultimately went with the “Monster Among Men”.”

Jeff Hardy just recently returned to in-ring action after being out since April 20th, 2019.
