Exclusive: Jeff Cobb Not Originally Planned For Inner Circle Spot

Last night on AEW Dynamite, Jeff Cobb made his debut with the company. He appeared as a hired gun for Chris Jericho and the Inner Circle attacking Moxley to close out the broadcast. It was also announced that he will be facing Mox in singles action on next week’s episode of AEW Dynamite in Atlanta.

Earlier today it was reported that Cobb has not officially signed a deal with AEW and that he is working on per appearance deal as he will only be making a limited number of appearances with the company.

In an update, while speaking to sources we can confirm PWInsider’s report that as of last night’s Dynamite Cobb has not signed a deal with AEW.

I was also told that the “hired gun” spot for Chris Jericho and the Inner Circle was not originally supposed to be Jeff Cobb. There were plans in place for that role to go to somebody else, however things fell through at the last minute and Jeff Cobb was brought in as a replacement.

We will keep you updated if we hear anything else about Jeff Cobb or his status with AEW.
