WWE Considered Aleister Black As Potential Opponent For Brock Lesnar At WrestleMania 36

One of the final participants that remained in the ring Sunday night in Houston for the Men’s Royal Rumble match was Aleister Black. The match was won however by Drew McIntyre, but as we previously reported he wasn’t the only person considered to walk out of the match the winner, and it now looks like we can add another name to the list of men considered.

On the latest episode of Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer discussed the Men’s Royal Rumble match. During the talk he mentioned that one of the names that had been considered as a possible winner of the match was Aleister Black. It was said that his name was thrown around as a possible WrestleMania 36 opponent for Brock Lesnar, but the decision was made to go with McIntyre instead.

“Aleister Black was in the running for the Lesnar match. The decision was made to go with McIntyre, and it’s probably the right decision considering it’s probably early for Aleister Black, but he was absolutely in the running for that decision.”
