HSP- Royal Rumble Preview And Predictions

Men’s Royal Rumble Match— By the end of tonight someone will have overcome twenty-nine other competitors for a chance to point at the huge WrestleMania logo and earn the right to challenge for the Universal or WWE Championship. There are several questions looming as we go into the Royal Rumble match itself, like what if Brock Lesnar wins the Rumble? I’m sure many WWE fans would be going off on their social media annoyed that Brock continues to be their golden boy. Which Superstar will draw number two? Could it be Cain Velasquez? Roman Reigns? Drew McIntyre? An NXT star? Or will it just be someone fed to Lesnar to make him look invincible. Will there be surprise entrants in the Rumble? In an odd move WWE has listed almost all their competitors for the Rumble earlier than normal with only four spots left unannounced leaving the door wide open for tons of speculation, as to whether or not we will be shocked some surprise returns. The two most commonly speculated names always being thrown around this year are CM Punk and Edge. We will see what happens tonight but I’m sure we’ll have tons to dissect Monday morning.

Confirmed entrants: Brock Lesnar (No. 1), Roman Reigns, King Corbin, Dolph Ziggler, Erick Rowan, AJ Styles, Randy Orton, Elias, Rey Mysterio, Ricochet, Drew McIntyre, Otis, Tucker, Rusev, Bobby Lashley, Aleister Black, Buddy Murphy, Braun Strowman, Shinsuke Nakamura, Seth Rollins, Kevin Owens, Samoa Joe

Prediction– Seth Rollins

The field is wide open and WWE can go in a lot of different directions here, but at the end of the we think that the “Monday Night Messiah” will walk away as the winner of the 2020 Royal Rumble

Women’s Royal Rumble Match— In what many consider to be known as The Charlotte Flair Invitational, this year’s Women’s Royal Rumble match seems to be the Charlotte’s to win. There will be several surprise entrants and we’re sure they’ll use some of the female competitors from NXT as well. The only two questions heading into tonight are who’s going to pose the biggest threat to “The Queen?” Will Ronda Rousey make her return to WWE at the Rumble

Confirmed entrants: Charlotte Flair, Alexa Bliss, Nikki Cross, Sarah Logan, Dana Brooke, Carmella, Mandy Rose, Natalya

Prediction– Sasha Banks

Shocker! We’re really trying to get in the head of someone from WWE creative here so there is a method to our madness. Let’s go with the notion that Bayley retains her Title against Lacey Evans, what’s the next money match that makes sense heading into WrestleMania? Sasha Banks winning the Rumble and challenging her best friend, Bayley, on the biggest stage of them all. Although this match may be a couple of years too late it seems like this is the direction WWE might be headed.

Universal Championship– The Fiend(c) vs Daniel Bryan (Strap Match)– The contract was officially signed this past Friday on SmackDown Live with “The Fiend” getting the upper hand on Daniel Bryan, giving the world a small preview for what he has in store this Sunday. “The Fiend” unmercifully whipped Bryan several times with the leather strap and then signed his name on the contract with his own blood. How can Daniel Bryan overcome someone that has yet to be beaten in WWE and hasn’t shown any kind of weakness?

Prediction– “The Fiend”

The odds seemed to be heavily stacked against Daniel Bryan, but are we prematurely counting out WWE’s ultimate underdog? It’s going to take everything including the kitchen sink for Bryan to defeat Bray Wyatt, but if anyone is used to overcoming the odds it’s Daniel Bryan. Unfortunately we don’t see it happening this Sunday

Falls Count Anywhere— Roman Reigns vs King Corbin These two men weren’t done with each other after Corbin’s win in at TLC in December. Reigns challenged the 2019 King of the Ring winner to another singles match on a future episode of SmackDown and was ambushed and humiliated by Baron Corbin and Dolph Zigger in infamous dog food fiasco. After a win over Robert Roode this past Friday on SmackDown in a tables match, Reigns was allowed to choose a stipulation for this match, and his decision was a falls count anywhere match, but remember wherever Corbin goes so do Dolph Ziggler and Robert Roode.

Prediction– Roman Reigns

Get ready! The time for Roman Reigns to recapture his top spotson the blue brand is about to begin. Whether or not Roman wins the Royal Rumble he will definitely be involved in some capacity at this year’s SmackDown main event at WrestleMania. With that said a loss to Baron Corbin isn’t in the books. Roman Reigns was our runner up to win the Royal Rumble but Seth Rollins narrowly edged him out.

Raw Women’s Championship– Becky Lynch(c) vs Asuka The stage has been set for Becky Lynch to conquer her greatest obstacle as Raw Women’s Champion this Sunday at the Royal Rumble. Asuka has gained tons of momentum the last couple of months by winning the Women’s Tag Team Titles alongside Kairi Sane forming the Kabuki Warriors. Asuka’s has used the green midst to her advantage and it’s definitely something that Becky has to be on the look out for if she’s to successfully defend her Championship and head to WrestleMania in Tampa this April. Will the green midst be the decisive factor this Sunday?

Prediction– Becky Lynch

There’s absolutely no way that Becky Lynch is losing this match! Asuka’s been built up as this unstoppable force just so that Becky Lynch can get her big conquering win this Sunday at the Royal Rumble

SmackDown Women’s Championship– Bayley(c) vs Lacey Evans Lacey Evans gave an all world promo this past Friday on SmackDown and the development of her character in recent weeks has turned her into a crowd favorite heading into her match with Bayley this Sunday. Bayley has done a great job being the ultimate bully in this feud with Evans, alongside her best friend Sasha Banks they’ve done everything in their power to make Lacey’s life a living nightmare. Can Lacey overcome Bayley to become the new SmackDown Women’s Champion and prove that bullies never win in the end?

Prediction– Bayley

Down deep we believe that Lacey Evans definitely deserves a run with the Championship but that may have to wait because it sounds like WWE may be invested in a Bayley vs Sasha Banks feud for WrestleMania.

United States Championship– Andrade(c) vs Humberto Carrillo After successfully defending his United States Championship against Rey Mysterio in an epic Ladder Match, Andrade was about to finish off Rey for good until Humberto Carrillo came out through the crowd in a mask to make the save. Humberto Carrillo will look to get his revenge by taking Andrade’s United States Championship this Sunday.

Prediction– Andrade

Andrade still has to be feeling the affects of that Ladder Match from this past Monday and might not be 100% heading into his match with Humberto Carrillo this Sunday. This isn’t fair to Andrade! Carrillo is driven to become the new United States Champion and get a measure of revenge but Andrade is on a roll and finally showing the world that he’s one of the biggest stars in WWE. Let’s not forget the X factor, Zelina Vega, she will do whatever it takes to make sure that Andrade walks away champion. Right now it’s just Andrade’s time.

Sheamus vs Shorty G It’s great to see Sheamus back in a WWE ring and reclaim being a top guy in the company and the Celtic Warrior has his sights set on making an example out of “Shorty G”

Prediction– Sheamus

It’s hard to see “Shorty G” walking away with the victory, but we’ve seen crazier things happen in WWE. Sheamus might be taking his opponent lightly but he seems like a man on a mission, a man looking to exterminate a “rat” this Sunday.

This was a real fun article to write. It was great to share our thoughts and predictions on the Royal Rumble. Sit back and enjoy as we are officially on the Road to WrestleMania.
