Ring Of Honor Issues Statement Regarding Status Of Television Champion Shane Taylor

Ring Of Honor has been known to blend storylines with what is going on in real life. The most recent incident to come to mind was when Enzo and Cass jumped the guardrail at ROH’s joint MSG show with New Japan Pro Wrestling. There were differing reports coming out of that, some saying not many people knew that Enzo and Cass would jump the rail, while others stated that no one knew. Enzo and Cass have not been featured since, only fueling the speculation.

The most recent “is it real or isn’t it” story with Ring of Honor is Shane Taylor trying to leave the company while being Television champion. Shane started with ROH as a team with NXT’s Keith Lee. Soon Shane played a “bounty hunter” type character where he would accept payments and do other wrestlers bidding. Shane eventually won the Television championship and now it seems he is having difficulties with ROH on coming together for a contract.

Shane has also ReTweeted fans saying that ROH has wasted his potential.

Ring Of Honor issued a response on their website.

Ring of Honor Wrestling and Shane Taylor have agreed to terms on a buyout of his contract, effective immediately.
ROH is currently in negotiations with Taylor for him to make his advertised defense of the ROH World Television Title at the Death Before Dishonor pay-per-view on Sept. 27 in Las Vegas against Flip Gordon and Tracy Williams in a Triple Threat Match.

Ring Of Honor

Time will tell if this is legitimate or not. Ring of Honor seems to have a penchant for putting their championships on wrestlers whose contracts are coming up. World Champion Matt Taven comes to mind in that regard.
