Riot Fest Books Wrestling Promotion Who Has Wrestler Dress Up Like Donald Trump

Riot Fest is a rock festival that usually has a killer line up. This year is no exclusion. Along with music, Riot Fest also has a litany of things for fans to do, this year wrestling was on that list. Riot Fest has had wrestling before, in 2012 and 2014, but seemed to stop booking wrestling companies until this year.

Riot Fest takes place in the Chicago area, and if you follow independent wrestling at all, you would know that there are many great wrestling promotions in Chicago. Well every Chicago promotion you can think of was not booked for the festival, instead it was a promotion that no one really knows the name of.

Video has surfaced of an “angle” where a wrestler comes out dressed as President Trump. There is a bit of a scuffle, a fan can be heard saying “kick his ass Trump” while other fans cheer when the “Trump” wrestler gets some moves done to him. At the end of the clip “Trump” is unmasked to no reaction from the crowd, and everything just kind of ends.

Of course WWE has featured a fake Trump before, as well as have the real Trump “buy” Monday Night Raw one time and shave Vince McMahon’s head. He also no sold The Boogyman. So having a “Trump” show up at a wrestling event, though bizarre, isn’t out of the ordinary.

There seems to be more backlash to Riot Fest for booking this promotion than what the promotion actually featured.

It’s strange that the flyer shows the bands performing but not listing wrestling anywhere

It is hard to be surprised by Riot Fest doing this when their Twitter header reads

Celebrating 15 years of not booking the exact bands you wanted, in the exact order you wanted, in the exact location you wanted, for free
