WWE Trying to Gain Viewership First Week Competing Against NFL

On Monday the National Football League has their first games which will mean that WWE will compete against the NFL once again.

This upcoming Monday Night Raw will take place at Madison Square Garden and Stone Cold Steve Austin will also be in attendance to moderate the contract signing between Seth Rollins and Braun Strowman.

AJ Styles will be taking on Cedric Alexander, Rey Mysterio will face Gran Metalik, and Charlotte and Becky Lynch will take on Sasha Banks and Bayley.

Dave Meltzer reported that his feeling is that WWE is loading up this weeks show.

Raw is expected to be loaded this week as far as an attempt to put on a good standalone show since it’s the first week against the NFL, not to mention it being in Madison Square Garden.

My strong feeling is Styles vs. Alexander is there to be a great match of course, but for more than just that.  There is very much going to be an attempt to make news on this show for all those reasons, but the competition aspect and it’s PPV go-home.

We will have to check back following this episode of RAW to see if ratings improved even though they will be competing with the NFL’s first two Monday Night Football games.
