AEW Announces Date Of First World Title Defense

All Elite Wrestling won’t have a weekly show until October, but that doesn’t mean they aren’t planning for the shows. Today the company announced that the first World Championship defense will be on October 16th.

What’s funny is not only have they not announced a challenger, they don’t even have a champion. The champion will be crowned at AEW’s next PPV All Out. The match is between Chris Jericho and Adam Page.

It’s refreshing to see a company planning months in advance for their shows, as opposed to WWE who continually writes their shows while the shows are airing.
