Fans Reportedly Encounter Major Issues With WWE Smackville Event

WWE held a special WWE Network special titled “Smackville”. WWE made the decision to turn their WWE Live Event House Show in Nashville, Tennessee into a live Network special that aired on Saturday night July 27th, 2019.

Apparently some issues arose for some fans who attended the event on Saturday Night, both inside and outside the arena. According to a report via Fightful Select there were hundreds of fans who were left waiting outside the Bridgestone Arena in Nashville for a very long time, as their tickets were not ready for pickup at Will-Call. It was said that there were “big issues” with none of the will-call tickets being ready for fans to pick up.

It was also reported that WWE was heavily enforcing fans using their cell phones during the event to prevent anyone from potentially recording footage of the event. Some fans even were threatened by Security to have their phones taken away to make sure that they weren’t going to record anything.

“One incident at ringside where security threatened to take a teenage girl’s cell phone to prevent her from recording. Security was heavily enforcing cell phone recordings”

It is always stated that video recording is prohibited, however sometimes it is hard to differentiate whether or not a fan is recording a video or just taking pictures and it is usually not heavily enforced by security at the event. We will have to see if this remains a trend by WWE to be more strict with fans who appear to be recording video.
