AEW TNT First TV Show Date | Chris Jericho Talks All Elite Wrestling Roster CM Punk & War vs WWE

It’s Official, AEW will premiere their flagship program on TNT on October 2nd in Washington, DC. The wrestling community is obviously excited about the news, but now All Elite Wrestling needs to get serious about their plan on attracting the mainstream audience and getting ratings that TNT will tolerate.

Chris Jericho Talks About AEW Roster, CM Punk and “WAR” with WWE

Last week, Chris Jericho was on Collider Live and they talked to the Ayatollah of Rock n Rolla about AEW and what AEW needs to do to succeed on TNT starting in October.

In the interview, Jericho mentions that AEW needs to focus on doing shows in smaller venues. Ones that seat 3-5K as oppose to ones WWE tries to do that consist of 10-15K seats. Y2J may have not gotten the memo that the premiere show is going to be in the Capital One Arena in Washington, DC that seats over 23K people.

Also in the interview, he stresses that AEW can’t just throw 40 guys on TV and expect them to instantly get over on their own. Instead, they need to slowly build stars one by one. One thing All Elite Wrestling is doing right so far is building stars one-by-one. First with Hangman Page and MJF at Double or Nothing, then Darby Allin at Fyter Fest and Jungle Boy and Luchasaurus at Fight For the Fallen while having their mainstays like Jericho himself, Jon Moxley, and Cody Rhodes.

As far as poaching from other promotions, Jericho said that they do not want to be headhunting WWE and that they have their own stars. Great to say, but will it be the practice once AEW goes on TNT.

Ralph and Michael talk about the interview and bring their incite on what AEW needs to do to succeed.
