Reason Why Finn Balor Lost The Intercontinental Title Match At Extreme Rules

WWE put the Intercontinental Title match between Finn Balor and Shinsuke Nakamura on the Extreme Rules Pre-Show, and we saw a new champion crowned as Nakamura defeated Balor for the title.

According to a report from Brad Shepard, there was said to be a lot of confusion as to why the Intercontinental Title match was not featured on the main card and was instead placed on the pre-show. It was also stated that Paul Heyman was more upset about the decision than Finn Balor was.

It was also reported that Finn Balor losing the IC Title to Nakamura was Paul Heyman’s call. In addition, the idea is to eventually have Balor join The Club.

Regarding Finn Balor and the IC Title match at Extreme Rules, Shepard said:

“According to a source in #WWE, there was lots of confusion as to why the Intercontinental Championship match was not on the main card. I’m told Paul Heyman was more upset about it than Finn Balor. #WWE #ExtremeRules”

“I’m told Finn losing was Paul Heyman’s call – the idea is having him eventually join the Club.”
