Jon Moxley Defeats Juice Robinson To Win The IWGP US Title

Jon Moxley’s debut at AEW’s Double or Nothing shocked the wrestling world. Moxley’s deal with AEW allows him to work overseas, and it was announced shortly after his debut that he would be challenging Juice Robinson in NJPW for the IWGP United States Title on June 5th.

Early this morning Jon Moxley and Juice Robinson faced off at NJPW’s Best of the Super Juniors Finale from the Ryogoku Kokugikan for the IWGP US Title. The match was the semi main event on the card, which also featured Will Ospreay vs. Shingo Takagi in the finals of the BOTSJ Tournament.

The match between Moxley and Juice was brutal. The two battled in a very stiff and physical contest, that saw Juice land his “Right Hand of God”, but was unable to connect with the Pulp Friction as Moxley blocked the move. Mox then went to hit “dirty deeds” on Juice, but Robinson was able to block Moxley’s finisher, but eventually he was able to hit his DDT on Juice, but it was not enough to score the pinfall as Juice kicked out at 2.

Eventually Mox was able to connect with his new finisher a variation of dirty deeds, where he lifts his opponent up with a double arm lifting DDT that he is calling the “death rider” and scored the pin to become the NEW IWGP UNITED STATES CHAMPION!

Following the match Moxley bowed to all four corners of the ring before leaving the arena with the belt.
