Update On Sasha Banks: Future Plans, How Much Time WWE Gave Her Off and More

News and rumors about Sasha Banks have been swirling since the day after WrestleMania.

She did not appear on the Raw and Smackdown after WrestleMania, nor did she show up for the Superstar Shakeup.

Brad Shepard reported an exclusive earlier today over at Pro Sports Extra Brad said on his “Oh You Didn’t Know” Podcast that

According to sources in WWE, Sasha was given a couple of weeks off as of Tuesday morning.
Apparently, she’s very upset about being split up from her friend and tag team partner, Bayley, after this week’s Superstar Shakeup. She is also adamant that the problem isn’t with the Iiconics, but WWE’s producers and writers.
Sasha and Bayley were told their reign as tag team champions would last past the next show in Saudi Arabia, which is rumored to be in May.
They were originally scheduled to defend the tag team championships against Natalya and Beth Phoenix, on the Saudi Arabia show.  Saudi Arabia’s General Sports Authority has approved one women’s match for the show, which they would’ve been a part of.
This would also likely explain why WWE has been evasive on answering if they would have a second all-women’s PPV this year.
Sasha is expected to return to WWE, and there have already been initial conversations about booking her to win the Money In The Bank briefcase, which means she would be guaranteed a match against the Raw and/or SD Live Women’s Champion (both championships are currently held by Becky Lynch).

There is a lot to unpack here. First is what would be a monumental moment in women’s wrestling. To have the first women’s match in Saudi Arabia. Sasha already made history as one of the first women to wrestle in Abu Dhabi along with Alexa Bliss. Being on the forefront of a women’s revolution in the KSA would be a tremendous feather in the cap of Sasha Banks. Having that taken away from her would explain a lot of the frustration.

The world of WWE changes rather quickly, so seeing that she was promised a title reign going into May, but having that switched, isn’t that big of a surprise.

The big surprise was that Sasha was in line to win the Money in the Bank briefcase. If Sasha knew this or not has yet to be clarified.
