Reason Why WWE Scrapped Rumored Ending For WrestleMania 35

As we saw, WrestleMania 35 ended with Becky Lynch raising both the RAW and SmackDown Women’s Titles over her head. However, that apparently wasn’t the original plan for how WWE wanted the show to go off the air.

In the latest issue of The Wrestling Observer Newsletter it was reported that the original plan for the ending of WrestleMania 35 was to have Charlotte Flair become irate and upset over the fact that she lost her belt while not being pinned. However, the idea was scrapped due to time, as the event had already taken up roughly 7 hours and 15 minutes already and the decision was made to wrap the event up instead of kickstarting another storyline or angle.

“The idea that the show would end with Lynch and Charlotte Flair having an issue since Flair lost her title to Lynch without being pinned didn’t transpire. Lynch won, and they ended the show and got out of there because it was so late.”

It looks like the planned Charlotte Flair confrontation with Becky Lynch over the loss of her SmackDown Women’s Title will have to come at a later date, as Lynch is currently working a program with Lacey Evans.
