As a WWE fan, it is drilled into us that every wrestler wants a Wrestlemania moment. That might not be true, but it’s the narrative we’ve heard so many times. How Mick Foley wanted the table spot with edge at Wrestlemania 22 because he hadn’t had his Wrestlemania moment, is just one of the many “Wrestlemania Moment” stories that are out there.
On Tommy Dreamer’s House of Hardcore Podcast, Tommy reveals how he was supposed to have his “Wrestlemania Moment” in the preshow battle royal. Tommy says this all in jest, but points out how The Miz cost Tommy his moment.
Let’s get back to Miami (Wrestlemania 24). I bring my family, my cousins down. We have an awesome show, I’m in the battle royal. I’m supposed to eliminate The Miz, who I hired into the WWE. We are going over all of our stuff, my kids are there. They went there for the Disney experience and couldn’t care less about anything pro wrestling.
So, I go and we have the match, and Miz really eliminates himself from the battle royal.. I’m supposed to have another lovely Wrestlemania Moment and stupid Miz fell, and eliminated himself over the top rope.
How that is even possible, if you go back and find it on the WWE Network, please do. He took away my ONLY elimination. I don’t eliminate anybody ever. You ever see me in the Royal Rumble?.. So I’m like, everyone is freaking out now because Miz messed up the entire order of who is supposed to be eliminated. Then I’m like, screw it, so I hung in til the final four and I also eliminated the Great Khali. I made sure, I was really trying eliminate him. Once he was starting to go, the other guys left, I by myself, eliminated The Great Khali and the cameras cut it away. I was in this battle royal for real not eliminating myself because Miz messed it up.

There you have it. The Miz eliminated himself, taking Tommy Dreamers moment away. Making Tommy take destiny into his own hands and eliminate The Great Khali.
