All But One Of King Kong Bundy’s Cats Got Adopted

King Kong Bundy had passed away suddenly earlier this month. Along with the tributes and fan memories, was a story on Bundy and how much of a cat lover he was.

The wrestling community quickly spread word about Bundy’s cats and how they needed to be adopted. Well, I’m happy to report some good news out of the Cherry Hill Courier Post.

As of Wednesday, just one of his cats remained up for adoption, according to Suzanne Cibo, founder of Washington Township-based Purrfect Angels Cat Rescue.

The small rescue, which tends the cat adoption center at the Turnersville PetSmart, received more than 20 inquiries about three of Pallies’ cats it took in — Gio, 4, Pat, 15, and Sasha, 8.
Pat, a toothless senior, was adopted by a South Jersey couple. Gio was adopted by Elizabeth Freedman, of Mount Ephraim.

Sasha will be available for adoption on Monday. She picked up a mild respiratory infection in the stress of relocation to the Gloucester County shelter, then to a Purrfect Angels’ foster home. She is finishing a course of antibiotics, Cibo said.
When Pallies adopted Gio from the rescue four years ago, he had 10 cats, Cibo said.
“He was so sweet,” she said of the 6-foot-4, 450-pound “gentle giant.”

When the story was shared on Twitter, one of the adopters shared their story.

This is heart warming. It’s good to know that the wrestling community can pull together and show that some of us are really good people. I didn’t know King Kong Bundy personally, but I bet he would be very proud to know that his cats are being looked after by adoring fans.
