WWE Removing Chair Shots From Newly Archived Footage

One of the many “rules” in place in the modern era of WWE is that there are no unprotected chair shots allowed. This of course is a big change from the old days where you were looked at as being soft if you put your hands up when taking a chair to the head. Now instead of chair shots to the head, you will see Superstars take the shots to their backs.

However, that it doesn’t stop there apparently.. according to a new report from Sean Ross Sapp via Fightful Select, WWE is taking it a step further. WWE production employees are being told that all newly edited videos for their archive are to be edited so that chair shots to the head are removed altogether.

As you might expect this would drastically change the history of a lot of matches, as chair shots were so prominent during the attitude and ruthless aggression era of WWE.

We will keep you updated if we hear anything more about WWE making edits to their archived footage.
